

Slay the Spire has really heralded the birth of subgenre of roguelike card games that are here to stay, even if some Spire-likes aren't terribly innovative. There are also quite a few clones popping up on Steam lately, to the point there's some discussion of it becoming its own little sub-genre.

Last month we also had a chance to preview Nowhere Prophet, which I called a "Dustpunk Spire-like," much to the chagrin of the developer, who had been working on it long before he even heard about Slay the Spire.
